Details:
In 1922, the Board of Trustees elected to oversee the design and construction of the "Lincoln Methodist Hospital", found a benefactor in Williams Jennings Bryan who donated his home, "Fairview", and ten acres of land to build the hospital. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 3, 1924, with three different units of the hospital. After the death of Williams Jennings Bryan in July of 1925, the name of the hospital was changed from Fairview Methodist Hospital to Bryan Memorial Hospital. As Lincoln expanded, so did the hospital. The name has changed as the hospital developed into one of the premier regional medical facilities. In the last 12 years, to comply with demand, the hospital has used precast/prestressed concrete building components of columns, beams, Flexicore slabs and twin tees to add over 620,000 sq. ft. of new structure for a multi-story office tower and two parking structures to accelerate construction, comply with intergenerational changes and maximize investment value.
